KBS “The Princess’s Man” is Finalist in New York TV Festival

KBS는 드라마 ‘공주의 남자’ 등 자사프로그램이 제54회 뉴욕TV페스티벌 결선에 진출했다고 31일 밝혔다.
‘공주의 남자’는 드라마부문, ‘문명의 기억, 지도’는 역사부문, ‘이카루스의 꿈’은 스포츠 부문 결선에 각각 진출했다.
뉴욕TV페스티벌은 TV 프로그램 전 분야에 걸쳐 전 세계 35개국의 방송사, 제작사들이 출품하는 국제상이다.
올해 시상식은 오는 4월 9일 미국 라스베이거스에서 개최된다.
앞서 KBS는 지난해 드라마 ‘성균관 스캔들’이 미니시리즈 부문 동상을 받는 등 뉴욕TV페스티벌에서 꾸준히 수상해왔다.

In the SBS weekend drama “Cheongdam-dong Alice” which just finished broadcasting on January 27, Secretary Moon – SM (Choi Sung Joon – Choi is always by the side of Cha Seung Jo – CSJ (Park Si Hoo – PSH), CEO of Artemis Korea. Although sometimes he is clueless as to what to do with CSJ, more often than not he is always there to support him. In short, SM is both secretary and friend to CSJ.

The synopsis says Secretary Moon is a typical 40-something secretary, but the Director asked me to create an interesting character, someone that even elementary students would like. That’s how the character ended up being so interesting. I worked very hard on its portrayal and PSH and the other actors all gave me a lot of help.”
In the interview Choi did not hide his admiration for PSH at all. They met at the 2010 World Cup, and in these 4 years PSH has been Choi’s older brother, mentor, and role model. Choi: “During filming of CDDA, the person I most appreciate is PSH.”
“PSH is my senior, so it could be difficult to get along. But he is very good to me, very easygoing. He takes good care of his fellow actors. His shooting scenes are the longest, and he often has to sleep in the car. Obviously he is the hardest worked, but he always wears a bright smile. Not just PSH, Moon Geun Young also livens up the atmosphere. Shooting is very pleasant.”
We asked Choi how he got to know PSH. Choi said: “I was already very familiar with PSH. We went to see the 2010 World Cup. I have a lawyer friend who also knows PSH very well. Somehow our seats were next to one another’s, so we watched the World Cup together. Through this work (CDDA), PSH has become my solid support. I am very grateful to him. If it had not been for PSH, Secretary Moon would not be so much fun.”
“There are many interesting scenes between CEO Cha and Secretary Moon. Those situation, setting, and actions are actually not in the script. PSH would say: ‘Let’s try it this way! Should be interesting.’ He gave me lots of guidance. His acting is always superb, so I followed his lead and became immersed in the plot.”
As Choi said, those scenes of PSH and Choi together arouse the greatest laughter. These two men in an unexpected bonding is extraordinarily funny and captivates audience. Choi said: “When I am with PSH, whether it’s just the two of us or during shooting, ’What do we do today?’, just chatting or discussing, I feel very happy. Senior often patronize juniors, but PSH really takes good care of me. He is really so cool.”
“PSH is the complete opposite of the wacky type. He is the taciturn type, and he always speaks quietly, slowly, gently. When we are alone together, we don’t speak much. We just talk slowly. PSH likes quiet, and so do I. During filming of CDDA, we’ve become much more cheerful and outgoing. PSH also speaks more than before. I wasn’t the type that likes to show off, but now I’m brighter and more cheerful. Now when PSH and I see each other, we talk a lot more.”

1월 27일 방송된 16회를 마지막으로 종영된 SBS ‘청담동 앨리스’(극본 김지운 김진희/연출 조수원) 속 아르테미스 코리아 회장 차승조(박시후 분) 곁에는 항상 문비서(최성준 분)가 있었다. 차승조 회장에게 쩔쩔매다가도 적재적소 징검다리 역할을 해주는 문비서. 차승조에게 문비서는 수행비서이자 친구였다.
실제로는 어땠을까. 최성준은 최근 뉴스엔과 인터뷰에서 ‘청담동 앨리스’ 종영을 아쉬워하며 박시후를 향한 무한 애정을 드러냈다.
최성준은 “좋은 작품과 헤어져 너무 아쉽다. 좋은 스태프, 좋은 배우들과 같이 했다. 이렇게 빨리 끝나니까 아쉬움이 있다. 마지막회는 박시후 형, 박시후 형 팬들과 함께 봤는데 많이 반겨주시더라”고 입을 열었다.
“많은 분들이 ‘문비서’라고 부른다. 친구들조차도. ‘청담동 앨리스’ 내용도 보면 로맨틱 코미디이긴 하지만 사회 문제 제기도 많이 하고 내용 자체도 무거운 내용이 많았다. 그 와중에 차회장과 문비서가 깨알 재미를 담당했다. 시놉시스에서 문비서는 40대의 전형적인 비서였지만 내가 들어가면서 감독님이 재밌는 캐릭터를 만들어보라고 하셨다. 초등학생이 좋아할 수 있는 캐릭터를 만들어보라고 하셨고 결국 재밌는 캐릭터를 만들게 됐다. 노력을 많이 했고 박시후 형을 비롯 다른 배우들이 많이 챙겨줬다.”
최성준은 인터뷰 내내 박시후 앓이를 숨기지 않았다. 2010년 월드컵 때 만나 함께 응원한 것을 시작으로 4년째 친분을 이어온 박시후는 최성준에게 좋은 형이자, 선배, 롤모델이다. 최성준은 “‘청담동 앨리스’를 하면서 박시후 형에게 제일 고마운게 크다”고 밝혔다.
“박시후 형은 선배기 때문에 어려울 수도 있는데 워낙 편하게 해주시니 좋았다. 상대 배우들에게 배려를 많이 해주셨다. 박시후 형은 촬영도 제일 오래 하고 차에서 자기도 했다. 분명 본인이 제일 힘들었을텐데 그럼에도 불구하고 밝은 미소를 잃지 않았다. 박시후 형 뿐만이 아니라 문근영도 분위기를 밝게 해줬고 다들 정말 즐겁게 촬영했다.”
최성준에게 박시후와의 인연을 더 자세히 물었다. 최성준은 “박시후 형은 원래 친한 형이었다. 2010년 월드컵을 같이 본 사이다. 아는 변호사 형이 있는데 그 형과 시후 형이 친하고 어떻게 하다가 같이 자리를 하게 되면서 월드컵을 같이 보게 됐다”며 “이번 작품을 계기로는 든든한 선배가 됐다. 정말 고맙다. 시후 형이 아니었으면 문비서가 그렇게 나올 수 없었을 것 같다”고 말했다.
“드라마를 보면 알겠지만 차회장과 문비서 사이에서 재밌는 신들이 있다. 상황, 설정, 행동들이 대본이 나와있는게 아니다. 시후 형은 ‘이렇게 한번 해봐. 재밌겠다’고 말하면서 지도도 많이 해줬다. 시후 형이 워낙 연기를 잘 하니 같이 몰입이 되더라.”
최성준이 밝혔듯 박시후 최성준은 극중 웃음을 유발하는 다수 장면들을 함께 했다. 건장한 두 남자가 보여주는 의외의 깨방정 모습은 시청자들을 사로잡기에 충분했다. 최성준은 “개인적으로도 촬영 자체가 시후 형이랑 붙을 때 ‘오늘은 뭐하지?’ 생각하면서 같이 얘기하는 자체가 행복했다”며 “서로 받아주기가 쉬운게 아니다. 근데 선배가 후배를 챙겨주는 모습이 정말 좋았다. 역시 멋있는 시후 형”이라고 털어놨다.
“시후 형은 깨방정과는 완전 반대 성격이다. 과묵한 스타일이다. 말도 조용 조용 천천히 나긋나긋하게 말하는 스타일이다. 시후 형이랑 개인적으로 만날 때는 말을 많이 안한다. 그냥 천천히 얘기한다. 시후 형도 조용한걸 좋아하고 나도 그렇다. 그래서인지 ‘청담동 앨리스’ 촬영하면서 일상 생활에서도 많이 밝아졌다. 시후 형도 예전보다 훨씬 말을 많이 하는 것 같다. 나도 그 전에는 나서거나 그런 스타일은 아니었는데 밝아졌다. 활달해진 것 같다. 이제 시후 형 만나면 말이 많아질 것 같다.”
최성준은 ‘청담동 앨리스’ 시작부터 끝까지 모든 것을 박시후에 집중했다. 차승조 수행비서 문비서 역을 맡았기 때문이기도 하지만 친한 형과의 작업은 그를 배우로서 한단계 성장 시켜줬다.
최성준은 “박시후 형. 차 회장님은 내 롤모델이다. 내 사랑 박시후”라며 “진짜 고마운 점이 많아서 자꾸 얘기하게 된다. 문비서는 정말 시후 형이 있어 만들어진거다. 없었으면 그렇게 귀엽게 안 나왔다”고 고백했다.
“시후 형 덕분에 좋은 연기도 하고 행복했다. 원래도 시후 형한테 동생으로 잘 했는데 연기자 후배로서 더 잘 할 것이다. 시후 형은 느낌이 좋은 사람이다. 너무 좋아서 ‘형 형’ 그러면서 잘 따랐다. 일적인 얘기를 하지는 않지만 사람 대 사람으로 편하게 지낸다. 작품을 하면서 연기자 선배로서의 본받을 점을 많이 보고 배웠다. 정말 감동을 많이 받았다. 진짜 멋있다. 시후형 사랑합니다.”

최성준이 밝혔듯 박시후 최성준은 극중 웃음을 유발하는 다수 장면들을 함께 했다. 건장한 두 남자가 보여주는 의외의 깨방정 모습은 시청자들을 사로잡기에 충분했다. 최성준은 “개인적으로도 촬영 자체가 시후 형이랑 붙을 때 ‘오늘은 뭐하지?’ 생각하면서 같이 얘기하는 자체가 행복했다”며 “서로 받아주기가 쉬운게 아니다. 근데 선배가 후배를 챙겨주는 모습이 정말 좋았다. 역시 멋있는 시후 형”이라고 털어놨다.
“시후 형은 깨방정과는 완전 반대 성격이다. 과묵한 스타일이다. 말도 조용 조용 천천히 나긋나긋하게 말하는 스타일이다. 시후 형이랑 개인적으로 만날 때는 말을 많이 안한다. 그냥 천천히 얘기한다. 시후 형도 조용한걸 좋아하고 나도 그렇다. 그래서인지 ‘청담동 앨리스’ 촬영하면서 일상 생활에서도 많이 밝아졌다. 시후 형도 예전보다 훨씬 말을 많이 하는 것 같다. 나도 그 전에는 나서거나 그런 스타일은 아니었는데 밝아졌다. 활달해진 것 같다. 이제 시후 형 만나면 말이 많아질 것 같다.”
최성준은 ‘청담동 앨리스’ 시작부터 끝까지 모든 것을 박시후에 집중했다. 차승조 수행비서 문비서 역을 맡았기 때문이기도 하지만 친한 형과의 작업은 그를 배우로서 한단계 성장 시켜줬다.
최성준은 “박시후 형. 차 회장님은 내 롤모델이다. 내 사랑 박시후”라며 “진짜 고마운 점이 많아서 자꾸 얘기하게 된다. 문비서는 정말 시후 형이 있어 만들어진거다. 없었으면 그렇게 귀엽게 안 나왔다”고 고백했다.
“시후 형 덕분에 좋은 연기도 하고 행복했다. 원래도 시후 형한테 동생으로 잘 했는데 연기자 후배로서 더 잘 할 것이다. 시후 형은 느낌이 좋은 사람이다. 너무 좋아서 ‘형 형’ 그러면서 잘 따랐다. 일적인 얘기를 하지는 않지만 사람 대 사람으로 편하게 지낸다. 작품을 하면서 연기자 선배로서의 본받을 점을 많이 보고 배웠다. 정말 감동을 많이 받았다. 진짜 멋있다. 시후형 사랑합니다.”

서윤주가 청담동 여자패션을 대변했다면 차승조는 청담동 남자패션의 추세를 보여준다. 특히 회장이라는 직책에 얽매이지 않고 T.P.O에 어울리는 자유로운 패션을 선보였다.

드라마 ‘청담동 앨리스’는 패션 그리고 최상류 층의 이야기라는 소재로 초반부터 화제를 모았다. 오늘(27일) 최종회로 막을 내린다.

KBS “The Princess’s Man” is Finalist in New York TV Festival
It was announced on January 31, 2013 that the KBS drama “The Princess’s Man” is a finalist in the 54th New York TV Festival.
“The Princess’s Man” is representing South Korea in the Drama category.
The New York TV festival is an international award ceremony with the participation of the broadcast companies and manufacturers of 35 nations around the world and comprises TV programs in all fields.
The awards ceremony will be held on April 9 this year in Las Vegas in the United States.
Last year the KBS drama “Sungkyukwan Scandal” received the bronze prize in the Mini-Series category of the New York TV Festival.

KBS는 드라마 ‘공주의 남자’ 등 자사프로그램이 제54회 뉴욕TV페스티벌 결선에 진출했다고 31일 밝혔다.
‘공주의 남자’는 드라마부문, ‘문명의 기억, 지도’는 역사부문, ‘이카루스의 꿈’은 스포츠 부문 결선에 각각 진출했다.
뉴욕TV페스티벌은 TV 프로그램 전 분야에 걸쳐 전 세계 35개국의 방송사, 제작사들이 출품하는 국제상이다.
올해 시상식은 오는 4월 9일 미국 라스베이거스에서 개최된다.
앞서 KBS는 지난해 드라마 ‘성균관 스캔들’이 미니시리즈 부문 동상을 받는 등 뉴욕TV페스티벌에서 꾸준히 수상해왔다.

“Cheongdam-dong Alice” that just finished broadcasting recently enjoyed its highest viewership of 16.6%. Park Si Hoo has played a handsome chaebol character in the past in the 2007 SBS drama “How to Meet a Perfect Neighbor”.
The drama also starred Bae Doo Na of the Hollywood movie “Cloud Atlas” (2012) fame as well as the veteran actor Kim Seung Woo.
